Overview:
Platform configuration provides various settings to help control user site access. Blocking undesired sites allows for better network management, account safety and user productivity.
Detail:
Allow/Block list settings provide various setup options ranging from unique addresses, wildcard values or predefined category inputs. Applying categories to a Block list helps cast a wide net for managing network traffic. Often times a Category may include legitimate sites that require user access retention. Applying sites to the Allows list helps alleviate roadblocks due to Block list settings.
Allow List - Sites:
Settings relate to "Sites", "Categories" and "Search Terms".
Sites can be added manually or imported.
"+ Add Site" allows for various manual setting inputs. Configuration consist of site address, wildcard values and category assignment.
"+ Add wildcard" applies new input condition to capture a unique site URL path.
"Category" contains a list of identification flags which also apply directly to other category related settings.
Block List - Sites:
Sites can be added manually or imported. Settings also provide "Block All Sites" option.
"+ Add Site" allows for various manual setting inputs. Configuration consist of site address, wildcard values, category assignment and mute violation.
"+ Add wildcard" applies new input condition to capture a unique site URL path.
"Category" contains a list of identification flags which also apply directly to other category related settings.
"Mute Violation" will trigger site block without violation result.
Note:
- Allows List settings overrule Block List settings.
- Applying "google.com" will results in other Google related subdomain blocks.(mail.google.com, drive.google.com, calendar.google.com and more)
